Jana
Born in Germany and raised in Milwaukee, Jana is a lifelong student and teacher devoted to traditional yoga lineages. She approaches the practice as both discipline and devotion — a path of healing, strength, and transformation that has shaped her life and her teaching.
She began practicing yoga at age eight in the Iyengar tradition and went on to complete her RYT-200 with Yoga to the People in New York City (2012), Bikram Yoga Teacher Training under Bikram Choudhury in Acapulco, Mexico (2017), and Integrated Hatha certification with Brandy Lyn and the Ivy Standard Yoga Institute in Utah (2021). Jana has studied with renowned teachers around the world, and her training and practice have carried her across studios internationally — from Berlin to New York to Arizona and back home to the Midwest — always rooted in the traditional lineages that first inspired her.
In 2016, a near-fatal car accident reshaped her understanding of yoga, the body, and resilience. Jana credits Bikram yoga with rebuilding her strength, restoring her spirit, and guiding her through recovery. After competing in the International Yoga Asana Championship in 2018, she co-founded Yoga Heights alongside her close friend and the studio’s founder, Kaitlin Rathkamp.
Jana teaches the Bikram and Integrated Hatha series (rooted in both the Ghosh and Ashtanga traditions) with precision, compassion, and reverence for lineage, and is sustained as a lifelong student of yoga through her daily Ashtanga practice. She remains grateful for her teachers and students, and is committed to sharing yoga asana as a living, transformative tradition — one that cultivates awareness, love, and steady growth.
